Annals of Science: The Climate of Man
The New Yorker; April & May 2005

This three-part article, running April 25, May 2, and May 9, 2005, is the kind of subject that creates a distinct buzz in the circles dealing with climate change. One could fill the pages of this month's newsletter with highlights from these articles by Elizabeth Kolbert. Better that you read it yourself. If you report regularly on global warming/climate change issues, chances are that you've already done so. If you don't, but expect to, get on it: beat it on down to your local library to read all three parts. It's a full day's read, to be sure. But then again, given how long today and tomorrow's science and environmental journalists are likely to be covering this issue, it's a day well spent. Well spent indeed.
