Peter Dykstra

Peter Dykstra is Executive Producer in charge of CNN's Science, Technology, Space, Environment, and Weather coverage, in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to his daily news responsibilities, Dykstra also oversees CNN's Next@CNN, a one-hour weekly Science/Tech/Environment program.

Dykstra in 1993 shared a National Emmy Award for CNN's coverage of the Mississippi River floods, which also won numerous broadcast awards and nominations. Before joining CNN in 1991, he wrote Pundit Watch, a media criticism column for The Progressive magazine, and in the 1980s he created the national media program for the environmental organization, Greenpeace, managing the group's video, photography and information activities.

Dykstra received his B.S. degree in Communications in 1979 from Boston University.
