Richard C. Wald

Dick Wald is Fred Friendly Professor of Journalism at Columbia University, where he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees.

After a reporting career that his included his being a reporter and managing editor with the New York Herald Tribune and assistant managing editor of The Washington Post, Wald went on to become president of NBC News, assistant to the chairman of the Times-Mirror Company, and Senior Vice President for Editorial Quality with ABC News. He is Chairman of the Board of the Columbia Spectator. Wald served as a special guest speaker for the June 1-3 science journalism workshop at Lamont-Doherty.
